It’s been a week and a half since I finished my 30 days of Paleo, and I’ve all but fallen off the wagon. I know, I know. We had to do some traveling, and Mom is visiting for a while and requires special meals so my diet has taken a hit. Plus, the local pub has Sam Adams Double Pumpkin Ale on tap and I just can’t resist. And my aunt sent homemade oatmeal-raisin cookies.

With that said, it’s not as bad as it could be. I’m managing almond flour banana bread and eggs for breakfast, staying dairy-free except for butter, and have not had pizza! I’m still trying to make paleo appropriate choices, like chicken and vegetables for dinner. I’m just not as strict as I should be.

And how am I feeling? Pretty crappy! I’ve been sneezing a lot, I’ve gained back the 4 lbs I lost during August, and am groggy in the morning. My afternoon energy has been ok, but my head is really foggy and I’m having trouble concentrating. All that from some gluten, butter, and a few yeasty pints of beer.

I need to do better.
